Travel Q&A with ITC Tutor Richard Euston
Richard Euston joined the International Travel College of New Zealand’s Study From Home team in January 2015. We asked him a few questions about his travel experiences so far.
What is your fondest travel memory?
There’s a lot to choose from but I would have to say our honeymoon. We stayed at the legendary Raffles Hotel in Singapore and also spent time in Bali in an amazing villa with it’s own pool.
Favourite place you’ve visited?
Again a lot to choose from – Rarotonga is my favourite – a beautiful island and the people are so friendly as well.
Do you speak any other languages? If not, what language would you love to learn?
Unfortunately not, would love to learn Italian because it sounds so awesome when you hear it.
Best thing about working in the travel industry?
The opportunities in terms of a variety of careers, and to be able to work anywhere in the world.
Next destination on your travel wishlist?
Barbados.
Advice for people looking to start out in the travel industry?
This industry is all about people – remember to look after your customers at all times and you will go far. And be patient – what you are doing today will lead to bigger and better things if you stick with it.
