It’s mid-winter, and after the past couple of crazy years, there are plenty of young people around New Zealand wondering what to do with themselves.

The New Zealand Certificate in Tourism with a strand in Tourism and Travel

The New Zealand Certificate in Tourism with a strand in Tourism and Travel is a level 3 course, and if you’re looking at studying online, you can enrol and get started at any time. Note that the course starts on July 25 with our on-campus learning option at ITC.

This course is a fantastic introduction to the travel and tourism industry, and could be the perfect starting point for anyone interested in a career working in hotels, airports, travel agencies, tourist attractions, and more.

You’ll receive skills-based training that focuses on cross-cultural communication, travel requirements and documentation, customer service, destinational geography, and much more.

And while this course is focused on travel and tourism, it can also be an excellent option for study for other areas as well, as many of the skills you’ll learn – such as communication and customer service – can be a real asset for any industry.

The course is just 20 weeks long, so you’ll graduate in December, right in time for summer and for the incoming travel boom.

The course is open to anyone who has achieved NCEA level 2 or can demonstrate suitable literacy and numeracy skills. If you’re a first-time learner, it may also be covered by the Fees Free program.
