Five minutes with Study From Home student Drue Walker
What are some of the benefits and challenges about distance learning? We caught up with Study From Home student Drue Walker about her experience so far.
Why is Study From Home the best option for you?
Study From Home seemed like the best option for me as I have a full time job and want to keep earning while studying.
What are some highlights about distance learning?
I’m able to work my course around my day-to-day schedule, and if I have any questions I can easily access answers or information on the ITC website or contact a tutor.
Have you come across any challenges?
There are some challenges simply because you need to rely on yourself to make sure that you are going to complete what needs to be done. You need to make sure that if you don’t complete a certain task during the week that you can make time for it a later date, and so on.
What advice would you give to future Study From Home students?
- Make sure you’re organised so you can complete your lessons on time and within the course planner.
- When you set aside time to study, make sure you definitely do it then – you have to be self-motivated.
- Most importantly – don’t leave everything until the last minute as this could affect your end results.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to become a Wholesaler. Being able to work in this sector is something that I’m interested in and offers exciting opportunities.
What is next for you, once you finish studying?
I hope to find a job in the near future in the travel and tourism industry, which will be able to upskill me, enabling me to eventually work my way up to my dream job of Wholesaler.
Any final words of advice?
I took the chance to study something that I had always been interested in and it opened up so many different aspects to the travel and tourism industry. I now have a better understanding of this industry which has made me even more intrigued in the great things it has to offer.
